Rick Steves, YWCA, and HASCO Partnership at Trinity Place

An April 15th Herald article highlighted Rick Steves’ generous act of philanthropy in donating Trinity Place, a 24-unit Lynnwood apartment complex, to the YWCA of Seattle – King County – Snohomish County. YWCA ownership of the property will allow the agency to better plan for and address the long-term capital needs of the property. Trinity Place serves low-income single moms who would otherwise be homeless. The program helps women build careers and further their children’s education. In an April 27th letter to the editor, Duane Leonard, HASCO’s Executive Director, explained that HASCO is a critical partner in the project and reiterated the importance of advocacy with congressional representatives to preserve federal funding for this type of supportive housing, which serves the most vulnerable in our community.
