HASCO Receives Award of 20 HUD-VASH Project-Based Vouchers for Filbert Road Veterans Housing

Today, Senator Murray’s Office announced that HASCO received a competitive allocation of 20 project-based vouchers funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program. Filbert Road, the first permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless and vulnerable Veterans in Snohomish County, is currently under construction and is expected to open for occupancy in August 2016. Residents will be Veterans that have serious challenges that prevent them from obtaining and/or maintaining private market rental housing and can benefit from living together in a supportive community with on-site case management provided by VA case managers as well as enhanced on-site supportive services provided by CCS. This award of 20 HUD-VASH project-based vouchers was the final and crucial piece needed to ensure that Filbert Road residents receive the rental subsidy and VA services they desperately need to achieve and maintain housing stability and dignity.
