Single Family Rehab Loan Program

The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program provides home improvement loans to low-income homeowners who live outside the city limits of Everett, but within Snohomish County.

Who is eligible for loans?

You may qualify if your income is below these income limits:

  • Household of 1 - $40,600
  • Household of 2 - $46,400
  • Household of 3 - $52,200
  • Household of 4 - $58,000
  • Household of 5 - $62,650

In addition, the applicant must own and occupy the property. Priority is given if you are handicapped or disabled, very low income, or in critical need.

What type of work can be financed?

Health and safety issues, energy conservation work, and general improvements needed to make the house more livable may be eligible for financing. These may include roofs, foundations, dry rot, electrical, plumbing, heating and handicap accessibility.

We will help you to: identify what needs to be done, complete bid specifications, monitor the construction and complete all paperwork.

What are the terms of the loan?

The rehabilitation loan is a low interest, long-term loan, adjusted to the homeowners' ability to make monthly payments. The loan must be secured by the property to be rehabilitated. Current interest rates are: 3% if household is below the income limits listed above, 0% if the household is very low-income and deferred payment if household is elderly or handicapped/disabled.
